Dear One……He did it, didn’t he? Didn’t come home when he said he would? Or didn’t keep his promise? Lied to you? Said ugly things? Cheated on you? Hit you? Said it’s your fault he‘s the way he is? You’re a horrible wife? If you were the wife he deserved, he’d be kind, gentle, loving, faithful, and following his dreams? Do you believe those lies?

Or maybe you’re not married to him. Maybe you think things will change when you tie the knot. You’re right about that. Things will change. If you marry, things will be worse, and you’ll hurt more than you do now. Deep inside you know that’s true.

You can’t change him, but we can do something for you. Did you know that I have a plan for your life? Did you know that I designed it before I knit your person together in your mother’s womb? It’s true. Your life isn’t a mistake. I created you on purpose and for a purpose; and I love you every bit as much today as I did before you were soiled by a grimy world. Would you like your inner sun to shine again? Do you remember that sun, the one whose light was blown out long ago? It still has your name on it. I’ve kept it safe. Would you like to live your life in its light once more? I didn’t create you to live in darkness and depression. Nothing would delight me more than to have you place your hand in mine and step into a life of light, but if you’re afraid, or angry, that’s all right. Let’s begin by you just turning toward me. I’m right here, sitting across from you, and I’m not here to judge.
