Bio of Alicea Fournier Alicea Fournier is the eldest of nine children. Her parents were separated when she was four years old. When she was about 51/2 her maternal grandmother manipulated her mother into allowing Alicea to come and stay with her and her common-law husband. There she remained until nearly age 13. During that time Alicea was emotionally, physically and sexually abused by the common-law husband. His violent nature was exposed to the world when he committed murder followed by suicide.
For the next two years Alicea bounced between parents, friends and family. Each home had its own set of problems ranging from personality problems to marital problems to alcoholism. In her search for security she found herself enveloped in a dark world where she was surrounded by a new "family". This family consisted of drug dealers, prostitutes, pimps, thieves, addicts and even a hired killer. Soon after her boyfriend was sent to prison on a drug charge, she realized she was pregnant and in danger from the very people who she had thought to be her friends. Without the protection of her boyfriend she was very vulnerable and in danger of her life. She fled to Winnipeg, assumed an identity and took a job waiting tables. When she reached five and a half months of her pregnancy she had a miscarriage. Eventually Alicea returned to Vancouver where she started life anew and met and married her first husband Norman. Now she thought she had everything she always wanted, a home, a marriage and a child, a son, Lee. When Lee was around two, Alicea began to feel something missing in her life and began her spiritual search. Her search led to various new age philosophies, the unity church, jehovah witnesses, scientology and others. Her searches came to an end when she learned of the love of Jesus Christ and began her relationship with Him; she became a Christian and was baptized. Shortly thereafter Norman also accepted Christ and was baptized. Three years later they had a daughter, Gail, and when she was one they answered a call to ministry on an Indian reservation. Four years later Norman was gone. He had esophageal cancer and died after a seven month struggle with the disease. Alicea was now twenty eight and a widow with two children to raise. She moved to a small mountain town for a time of refuge and healing. Nearly two years after Norman's death an old friend re-entered her life. Thomas was a minister of the gospel. Their renewed friendship quickly turned to love and they married. Thomas' ministry called him back to the United States, where they still reside. They have been married twenty three years. Both Alicea and Thomas are ordained ministers with years of combined experience in bible teaching, spiritual counseling and serving in various churches.
